The Barn is available during the day for all park visitors to enjoy. It is perfect for picnics or small groups and there are BBQ facilities which can be used free of charge. The Barn is also available to hire our exclusively. It has a spacious indoor setting that flows out the barn doors to a large outdoor area overlooking the picturesque pond and waterfall. There is also a bar area, rustic feasting tables and an outdoor fire pit to congregate around. There is ample space too for entertainment such as a band. The Barn can fit up to 150 guests standing or 90 seated.
The wedding ceremony deck is naturally picturesque, tucked away within lush native flora and fauna, surrounded by huge ponga trees and the rare giant bamboo plantation ? creating an enclosed intimate space to take your wedding vows. The area is sheltered from the wind and shaded from the sun. Filtered sunlight shines through giving a woodland feel as the Ponga and Giant bamboo quiver and sway in the breeze. Cascading water can be seen from every angle flowing and bubbling over rocks and stones amongst the lush green fauna. The Bridal party arrives unseen by the guests below, just the murmer of ?she?s here? can be heard muttered from person to person. The girls have time to adjust their dresses to perfection before the walk down the bamboo path. The wedding music begins, silence falls as all look up and see glimpses of the Bride through the bamboo as she is walked down the path. A wet weather canopy can be put up over the ceremony deck if required. The canopy completely covers this area and sits high up in the trees, you and your guests dry and comfortable. There is room for up to 150 guests and those less mobile can be transported to the ceremony deck in our covered golf cart.
Paheke is an ideal venue for an outdoor wedding ceremony and marquee wedding receptions or perhaps an intimate small group wedding indoors. The old house with its gables and verandah and the grounds with the majestic Cedar of Lebanon, the old oaks and magnolia trees, make a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and reception. A stream wends its way through the grounds and it is crossed by two rustic bridges, which make for wonderful photo opportunities. We can assist you in the organisation of all or part of your wedding event at Paheke. This room is a stunning wet weather option for your ceremony and particularly cozy for a winter wedding. As you look around further you notice the attention paid to detail with many dated photographs and carefully chosen ornaments of interest. Step outside to the courtyard and luscious lawns immaculately maintained, and enjoy the tranquility as the fantails flutter about the trees and gardens. With 3 acres of property to explore there is ample room for your guests to spill out and find their own private corner. Tucked away in one of the corners is our pergola, and primary wedding ceremony site. No need to worry about your guests hearing the ceremony as our portable sound system takes care of that while allowing your chosen music to be played. Over the years we have added a few more garden features that offer locations for family and bridal party photos. Our latest is the Jetty. It is located at the edge of the property nestled in the native bush by the stream that borders the property. Watch for further photos of our bush setting at the other end of the property. With huge Kanuakas and native ferns, this shaded area is lovely for family photos on a hot summer’s day. Another favourite resting spot is our rustic swing, nestled in the shade of the trees. There are two buildings which each have 4 Chalets, 3 one bedrooms and 1 two bedroom. The total number of rooms are 6 One bedrooms and 2 two bedrooms. The gardens that surround your chalet are beautiful to walk around and enjoy. There is also a herb garden that you are welcome to use. The below picture shows the Two Bedroom Chalet, number 4. The other Two bedroom has the same layout but different colours. The clubhouse provides facilities and comfortable surroundings for members and visitors to relax after a game of golf. The Club also allows the function venue to be utilised by non-members for a range of different event/function activities including breakfast or luncheon meetings, seminars, dinners, birthdays, weddings and other gatherings. For weddings and functions that require our facilities to be closed to members and golfers while the food preparation and set-up of the club house is in progress. For functions that do not require the clubhouse to close to golfers and members ? where normal WGC trading can continue, reduced rates are available.
